My 8 year old dd has this bit of (I persume) gum.
It is bleeding a lot when cleaning that area.
I was wondering why it's grown like that? And can a dentist do anything to help it.

It's inflamed because it's trapping plaque between the new adult tooth and the baby canine. Be super vigilant about cleaning it, when the adult canine comes through it will probably all be aligned. You need to brush it even if it's bleeding, really get in there and the bleeding will stop in a couple of days.
