Tonsillitis and bad breath

My 4yr old has suffered with Bacterial Tonsillitis quite a few times. But this time is bad. He has antibiotics and we are on day 3 of them, but he has really bad breath. This is something I haven't noticed before. Is this normal ? Has anyone experienced this ?

Yep, my son (5.5yrs) always gets bad breath with tonsillitis. Totally normal.

I could always tell when dd was getting tonsillitis from her breath, it's quite distinctive but goes as soon as the infection clears.
