My sister had a baby on New Year's Day. So far he has only had 2 dirty nappies. Last one yesterday and its still black. From memory with my kids I thought he should be passing yellow poo by now. He is being breastfed but has already lost 10 % of weight. Not got alot of faith in midwife as already made mistakes. Can anyone reassure. He is quite jaundice too.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My DS had very few dirty nappies in his first week and I remember being worried based on expectations from other mums and anti natal class. I tried b/f but it was difficult and as a result after a week he lost weight and we switched to formula. He is now a helathy sturdy 2 year old. If your worried take him to GP but every child is different and will have different movements
