She has history of anxiety especially at night. We saw a child psychologist and I have been trying to reach him because things are hard. Dd is saying she wants some pills to control her brain. She said she was scared of hurting our dogs. We listen to her a lot and we do have strategies in place but I'm really sad right now

Poor dd Sad hopefully the psychologist will get in touch tomorrow. It sounds like she's having intrusive thoughts which is quite common with anxiety. Try explaining how those thoughts don't mean she will do anything and to just accept them as thoughts not actions and they will pass.
Is she having cbt?

user1477462353 · 04/01/2017 23:42

Hi Realita, no she is not having cbt..we are seeing the psychologist again on Friday. She is just so down. She said she did try to put a hair brush down her throat.

Ask about her being referred or getting it as soon as possible. It's only one more day to wait now. I hope they understand the seriousness of the situation?

user1477462353 · 05/01/2017 13:31

I hope they do realise it too, we are feeling really powerless Dh and I. I hadn't thought about cbt for a child but I'm looking into it. Thank you Realita

I hope the psychologist can help tomorrow, is she on any medication?

user1477462353 · 05/01/2017 13:39

Thank you Bgd. It's really hard indeed. I can't wait for tomorrow.

I hope your daughter gets some help. If she's seeing the physiologist via CAHMS do you have a contact number, alternatively I would call your GP and ask for immediate advice. Un mumsnetty hugs to you all.
