Afebrile seizures, could be epilepsy?

DS has had the odd seizure since about 20 months, probably. He didn't have any for 18 months and he'd had waking EEG all OK so they said afebrile seizures (some are when feverish but some not), and he'd grow out of them, great we thought - that's a long gap.

But he's started Reception this year and three this term - one his lips went blue, he was shaking and his breathing was very slow. One was maybe 30 seconds of being unresponsive, eye rolls but upright. And one (I wasn't there) was a minute or two of twitching while being responsive, talking.

So if we have another paediatrician appointment, what more can they do? Someone was mentioning a sleep EEG, is that likely or helpful?

DS is adopted and we are missing half his family medical history but that didn't seem to be important last time.

Hi,
You could ask for a MRI scan to give you a really good picture of his brain and anything abnormal would show up.

He's actually had a CT scan for a slightly bizarre reason, and nothing was seen.
