Colic/reflux/wind??

Looking for advice. My baby is now 4 weeks old and EBF. Since about week 2 he seems to be in considerable pain soon after feeding- brings legs up, severe crying. He will always wake up from sleeping with this which is Proving tricky. He will often eventually pass wind but I can't seem to get any good burps from him.
He also seems to have a problem where he will suddenly get very distressed and fidgety and then bring up loots of milk.
Is this two problems? Any advice?!! I'm not sure if it's reflux and colic or just one or maybe neither!

Maybe try gripe water? It worked better for me than infacol and gaviscon to get burps up. Not sure it would help with vomiting though

breastfed DD1 was like this, infacol and gripe water helped her colic and by around 10/12 weeks it eased off. Hopefully it won't last long for you. It's very common unfortunately Sad

DD1 vomited too- she was comfort feeding for the colic pain I later discovered, so would get upset and vomit spectacularly because she was so full. Could be the same for you.

Thanks all- I'm going to get some gripe water today. Whatthefreak- I think he's also eating to comfort the pain which, as you say, could well be causing the vomiting problem! It's just so sad seeing them in pain.

I know, it's awful isn't it Sad would he take a dummy for comfort, to stop the overfeeding? Dd1 wouldn't but DD2 did and she didn't really have any colic at all thank goodness.

So far he's refusing a dummy but he just accepted the gripe water so in hoping that helps a bit!
