Is this a chest infection or worse?

My toddler got a cold last week and after a few days he woke up with a very high temp, shakes, wouldn't eat, lay there all day he was breathing at 60 breaths per minute and his heart rate was 145. He was diagnosed with a bad chest infection and is on anti biotics..... its day 2 of the anti bitoics and he's still not eating or wanting to move I carried him from his cot to the sofa and changed him and he will happily sit there all day! Where as normally he's running wild. I expected him to be a little better by now? He's still breathing fast but his heart rate is normal.

If he is having any difficulty with breathing you need to see a doctor again. Call the GP to review or if worried even consider A&E.

My 16 month old had a bad infection a few weeks ago and it took around 3 days after the antibiotics to start eating just a few mouthfuls, try to get him to drink plenty of water which I know may be difficult.
But as already said keep an eye on his breathing, if his chest starts pulling in under the ribs give 111 a call.
