DD has what I suspected and what the doctor confirmed as bronchiolitis. She had it just over 6 weeks ago and it seemed to be very similar. However the GP didn't seem overly knowledgable about bronchiolitis and said that its been some time since she did her A&E rotation so she didn't know how they treated it now. When I said "it's day 5 that is the peak, isn't it?" she said it only usually lasts a few days which isn't what happened before, isn't what A&E told us last time and the NHS website says it lasts longer too. Anyway, she also checked her over and said her glands are swollen and her throat is red but, at the time, free from sores. She said it could develop into tonsillitis. This was on Friday. I'm not able to get a good look at her throat myself but today I think I can see a few white spots and her glands are so swollen I can see them and they almost look bruised when they're coming out. She is feeding (EBF) but she's very fussy and sometimes pulling away and starts screaming. Anyway, I haven't seen swollen glands as a symptom of bronchiolitis and I'm now questioning the doctors diagnosis. DD is okay, she's going between being smiley and crying and she is sleeping more than usual but she is alert and having sufficient wet nappies. She has had green poo but apparently that's normal with any infection including a cold. Has anyone had any experience of these symptoms? And if so what was the outcome? Even if it is tonsillitis, it's still just a case of riding it out isn't it?
