Colief and ranitidine

newsflash · 04/12/2016 20:30

Can you use both at the same time?

Ranitidine is 3 times a day. Colief I put in my Ds's 3 formula bottles a day (rest of the time
He is breastfed)

Forgot to ask doc if I can carry on using colief alongside ranitidine

TIA!

They both do different jobs so I would imagine the are fine together. Colief breaks down lactose and ranitidine is to help with reflux

Should you not use Colief with the breastfeeds too as breastmilk also contains lactose?

I should but it's incredibly tricky - you have to express breastmilk and mix with colief then feed on spoon at every breastfeed

It's not really practical, especially when your baby screams the house down at any delay for the boob! It seems to be having an effect using it on the 3 bottles, so will continue to do so.
