babies breathing changes at night

I have a 3 week old baby whos breathing becomes raspy/croaky whenever he is put in his moses basket at night. He makes gargling sounds and it sounds like he is having trouble clearing his throat. This only happens when he is put in his moses basket at night, if i pick him up or lay him down on the bed his breathing goes back to normal but if he is put back in the basket the problem happens again. Ive been to the doctors a week ago and they said that his chest is clear and suggested elevating one end of his basket, but this has made no difference and a week on he is still doing it. Does anyone have any suggestions on anything i could try to help his breathing?

If the doc says he's ok then I guess it's just normal newborn Conjestion. We found a humidifier in the room helps but otherwise it's something they grow out of and I think it sounds worse than it is

Try and find some snufflebabe vapour oil, put a drop or two in a bowl of hot water in the room at night. I found it helped hugely with my DD when she was small as in the winter the bedrooms become very dry.
