Does this look like hand foot and mouth to you?

Bump, now DP has blisters in his mouth and feels really rough too. I don't know if to take him to the dr and risk contaminating people or not?

Is it just on the face? If that had been on the torso I'd have been wondering about chicken pox. I've not seen HFM but bumping the thread for you in the hope someone who has comes along.

Looks like it to me.

idontlikealdi · 06/12/2016 19:05

Don't go to the gp - they can't do anything. Calpol or ibuprofen.

I caught it from dts and was quite unwell with it.

Look on the palms of his hands for light pink spots and the same on the soles of his feet.

Muppetslikecoco · 06/12/2016 19:24

Nothing on hands and feet, just in his mouth and around his lips. I'll keep him away from the Drs then. I'm just shocked at how ill DP is with it. He's one to power through anything and this has his him bed bound Confused

Sounds v v c like it. Our nursery just sent guidance out about this and your wee ones symptoms match.

FWIW our nursery had no quarantine on HFM. As a PP said calpol and baby ibuprofen likely way forward but maybe check the NHS website or ring into your GP surgery tomorrow am.

TheLegendOfBeans · 06/12/2016 19:28

Ps: it affects adults worse apparently then then babies 😐

Quartz2208 · 06/12/2016 19:28

We have just had it it's awful. DS was sent to a&e from the doctors before the spots came out he was that ill and OH had four days off work.

StorminaBcup · 06/12/2016 19:34

HFM is vile. I caught it from ds and it was horrible. Really sore throat and the little spots feel like stinging nettle rash when you wash.

The spots look like HFM as they look 'pearly' instead of a fluid blister that you see in chicken pox. NHS website has some good info on it for this. Hope they are over the worst of it soon.

Muppetslikecoco · 06/12/2016 19:50

Thank you all, I'm feeling a lot more relaxed about it now. We'll just ride out the storm with paracetamol.

My son had hand foot and mouth and had these spots just around his mouth and nose, none on his hands or feet and none actually in his mouth.
