Almost certainly trivial but my 11 week old has had this patch of broken blood vessels on her thumb for several weeks now with no changes. It's not enough to bother the doctor with but wondering if it's going to get better ever! Anyone seen anything like this?

Does she stuck/chew her fingers?
Could be a birth mark of some sort.

GashleyCrumbTiny · 28/11/2016 14:40

She wasn't born with it. She does suck her fingers but this has been there longer than that habit!

My DD developed a strawberry mark on her arm about 6 weeks after she was born. I thought DS had bitten her as there was nothing there when she was newborn. It gradually disappeared by the time she was about 4.

I can't help m, but those are some delicious squishy fingers right there Grin

wowwee123 · 28/11/2016 14:54

My dn's birthmark wasn't visible as soon as she was born so could be that.

GashleyCrumbTiny · 28/11/2016 17:53

Aha! Thank you all. I was perhaps taking "birthmark" a bit too literally!

It is typical for "birthmarks" to develop 5-6 weeks after birth

Lovelongweekends · 28/11/2016 18:14

Not the best picture but my 7wk old has similar on her finger and the doctor has confirmed it's a birth mark. They said it may grow initially but should be completely gone by 5yrs old. If it grows too big or gets in the way they may treat it.

Nothing useful to add but that has to be the cutest little hand ever.

Thank you weekends - looks like the same thing!
