Why wouldn't you get it?

SatsukiKusakabe · 11/11/2016 11:33

My ds got his on Monday, little sniffly for the first 24 hours but absolutely fine since. He found it funny.

What are your concerns?

90schild · 11/11/2016 11:34

I understand, I was a little nervous as it was live, I worry about possible side effects etc. but flu is nasty and can be dangerous for young children.

Have a read up on the nhs site Here and see what you think. Did they give you some gumpf to read with the permission form?

Haudyerwheesht · 11/11/2016 11:53

Well it's only anecdotal of course but I wouldn't hesitate. Ds had flu aged 3 and ended up with pneumonia. I honestly thought we'd lose him.

Dinosaursgoboo · 11/11/2016 19:51

Kids can die from flu. Mine all get the spray.

shewolfmum · 11/11/2016 21:01

it isn't very effective and is live and sheds to immunocompromised people.

have a good read up...probably too late if it was today!

Lake2 · 13/11/2016 11:21

Mine both got it (2 and 4) and no side effects at all

dementedpixie · 13/11/2016 14:41

It has been more effective in the UK compared to the US which is why it's still being recommended here. Ds is due his soon too.

Eldest had hers a few weeks ago, no side effects at all although I understand it's different for everyone. Youngest was too young to have it so in my mind I'm protecting them both by the eldest getting it.

Mine had it 2 week ago and is now really poorly with high temp/bad cough on day 4 now. Thought it would eradicate this, seems worse than a cold Sad
