White Poo

My 1yr old had her jabs yesterday but is otherwise well, just sore legs. I just changed her nappy and her poo is very pale, my dh said her last nappy earlier was like this too. She isn't eating a lot of food but drinking cows milk so not sure if this could be the cause or not. Google suggests all sorts of issues but as she is well I'm wondering if anyone else has had this?

White poo is different to very pale brown poo. My DS used to routinely get very pale poo after a virus.

It's creamy white.

Actually properly white poo is a cause for concern. Pale, whitish, but coloured poo is OK. One of my DC had it when ill too. Doctors unconcerned as long as it is pale brown.

It's only today it's happened, I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow. I did wonder if it's because she guzzled so much milk yesterday and not much food. I know the jabs can play havoc with them too. Just never seen it in other kids.

After a virus, children can get temporarily lactose intolerant. My DD had this after a virus from eating yoghurt. We cut out lactose for a few weeks and she was fine. However, I'm not a medical person so I think you should get her checked out anyway but I bet it's nothing to worry about.

Her poo should go white just from drinking more milk. If she's other wise well then its prob nothing but if its still white tomorrow/ her next poo, i'd tale a sample to the go. If you can take a photo of it that might help as well if you have to get her seen. Always easier to show a photo than describe a poo!
