Cranial osteopathy

Has anyone had success with this for a baby that wakes frequently.
She's 8 months and had a traumatic birth

I used to think it was nuts, but actually took DD when she was about five and was totally convinced.
I wish I had taken her as a baby - she also had a traumatic birth and didn't sleep.
I found an amazing woman who specislised in children though, which I think was important.

Ds2 screamed constantly from the moment he was born and carried on for the next six weeks. I was very sceptical about cranial osteopath, but willing to try anything by that point.

After the first appointment he slept peacefully in his crib for hours (having previously only slept for short periods whilst on either me or dh) and from then on he was a different baby. We had a couple of follow up appointments, but honestly, he was fine after the first.

He then went on to be the most laid-back, chilled and happy of all my 3 dcs. He's still like that now and he's almost 13.

The majority of my family members have since seen the same osteopath for various issues and all have been very impressed. Cranial osteopathy was also responsible for a massive improvement in my migraines, helped get rid of dh's Labyrinthitis and put my pelvis back together after I developed severe symphysis pubis dysfunction during pregnancy.

It's such a gentle process, it's always worth a try, as there's nothing to lose other than the cost of the consultation.

I just left a comment on another thread about ear infections. My Ds had them frequently and there was a huge improvement in his condition after a couple of sessions of Osteopathy.

I've never seen how it can help and I'm not aware of any concrete studying confirming it does for babies. However, so many people I know have many positive stories about it that there has to be something to it.

I completely agree. Not seen anything scientific but got desperate to try almost anything. It's like a very gently physiotherapy and the guy said after 2/3 sessions I was to see a massive improvement. I thought how confident of him and you know what he was right!!! he said Ds tubes were blocked so wouldn't drain well and he unblocked them!?!?
