My DS is being offered the flu nasal spray, and I am trying to decide whether I do it or not. He has had all the other jabs and I am pro-vaccination. Just this time, I feel that his immune system can cope with the flu. Maybe though I am being naïve by thinking 'we all coped with the flu when we were kids so my kids will be ok', because the strains of flu are more virulent now. IS that true? I understand that part of the flu vax protects against the swine flu, or one strain of it. How prevalent is swine flu anyway? Am I being scared into saying yes to the vaccine?
I am concerned with some of the negative press I am reading, for example www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/6-reasons-i-wont-give-my-kids-nasal-flu-vaccine
I am open, I want to know more, but I am struggling at the moment.
