Dermatix for scars?!!!

Hi all, DD experienced cut to forehead that required glueing....I've been informed that dermatix (silicone gel) will help the healing process and reduce scarring?

Any experience with dealing with scars following cuts/ injuries?!

For my dd's split head we were advised to just use plain moisturiser. We did that twice a day and bio oil twice a day. Six months on it looks really quite light. She was operated on by plastics though so maybe a neater scar. Our older dd's head was glued, just followed the moisturiser advise then but the scar is really obvious but luckily its on the hair line.
