2 month outbreak head lice

Hi, our childrens' school has now had a 2 month persistent outbreak of head lice. There are posters up, the newsletter has outlined the issues, some parents have posted links to head lice prevention on social media and it seems everyone is sharing when they have found a louse to try and get it clear.
My children can only go to school for a couple of days before then they get them back and we are checking/treating morning and night. I can't think what to do. In the past we've (the school has) had outbreaks but they've got under control in weeks not months.
As the school & pupils just don't seem to be beating this. Has anyone had anything similar?

Yes. We parents ended up having a pact that all the girls (it was the girls in my case) in my daughter's class would be checked and treated over a holiday period. This did indeed stop it, thank heavens.

We had it for months. Someone isn't checking.

Try teared oil in shampoo conditioner and neat in between washes . Smells a bit but ok when dry.

Put coats in a bag on a peg. Wash bedding at 60 and change pillow cases.

Don't let the kids share brushes

Ask girls not to put heads together

Nitty gritty comb..: have just come out of this as a mum of 6 and it was hell. Spent a fortune on various lotions, but the nuggets persisted. Few nights of nitty gritty comb and not a sign of the buggers

We've got the nitty gritty comb, it is really good. I'm pretty confident that we're getting clear, its just we can them straight back codyking your right someone isn't checking.
Some one has just asked if they are doing it properly so a parent outlined it all again.. I sort of think some people are hanging out for the summer holidays but thats still over two weeks away ...

An aside question. I had to use the oily stuff on one of my dc with very long thick hair. We've used a full bottle of shampoo and the hair still looks greasy. Any suggestion to getting rid of the grease from it? They're washing hair daily at present and it looks full of grease by the next morning.

Washing up liquid. Then a good rinse. Wash as normal. Avoid conditioner on the roots.
