DD is now 17 but since starting her periods at 13 she has put up with almost persistent bleeding.
Firstly a wait and see approach was adopted as she was so young. At 15 she was put on the pill but suffered severe headaches and sickness despite trying different brands.
Last year they finally agreed to an ultrasound scan and hospital said she has Pcos. Doctor doesn't seem too concerned by the diagnosis and suggested a contraceptive implant to help control the bleeding. This was fitted 3 months ago and she has bled persistently since.
Last suggestion was tablets to take that delay periods. This has eased her flow but not stopped the bleeding
I really feel for her, she's miserable. Trying to manage college and a part time job with feeling rough constantly.
I just don't know where to go from here. Doctor doesn't think she needs a gynae referral so I'm at a loss what to do next
