Sudden appearance of large mole on 6yo

The other day I noticed a large mole had appeared on my 6yos heel. It's very orange, more so than it looks in the picture - I thought maybe it was pen at first and tried to scrub it off! I'm a bit perturbed by how quickly it appeared - literally overnight, and it is at least 5mm across.
Of course I have googled and the risk of cancerous moles at this age is vanishingly small. Plus it is a regular shape and all one colour (though the orange is surprising). So I was wondering if anyone had come across anything similar in their kids, and whether it is something I should seek medical advice on - any ideas?

I would show that to the GP.
Also, keep the photo and measure and photograph it in a week, 2 weeks etc.

It is odd that it appeared so suddenly - but difficult to see properly in a photograph.

My DS is 9 so slightly older and had about 4 biggish moles appear pretty much overnight ( hard to be 100% sure as they are on his head) I took him to the Dr's as I was shocked by how quick they appeared and he said it's completely normal for them to appear out of nowhere and as they were uniform colour and shape he wasn't concerned. I would just monitor it for changes as you would any mole but I'm sure the Dr won't mind taking a look if it puts your mind at rest.

Yes I thought it might be useful to keep a photo for comparison. Interesting to hear that your doctor says it is normal for them to appear so quickly ineed. Going by the warning signs I googled it doesn't necessarily look suspicious except maybe the size. I just couldn't belive how quick it appeared!
