Hi, DD has had this rash come up. Just wondering if anyone knows what it is? We have an emergency doctor's appointment booked at 5, as I wasn't sure if it should be left. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas, while we are waiting?

Anyone know what this is?

Looks nasty! No idea what it is. Gp a good idea

lifeistooshort · 07/06/2016 15:06

Am no medical professional but from experience I would say giant urticaria

Haggisfish · 07/06/2016 15:06

How is she in herself? If she has a temp/seems ill at all, I'd probably nhs direct it actually. Looks nasty.

lifeistooshort · 07/06/2016 15:07

or could it be ringworm? That's the only two that sprint to mind.

spanky2 · 07/06/2016 15:08

Is it itchy?

AnotherTimeMaybe · 07/06/2016 15:11

Oh dear!! Did she go to the woods? Go near any odd plants?

DDRash · 07/06/2016 15:24

She feels fine, her temp is up a tiny bit, but she doesn't feel unwell. She hasn't been in any woods or near funny plants, that I'm aware of!! She says its a little bit itchy, but not terrible

I'd get her seen, I'm sure it's nothing but a doctor has to see this!

Haggisfish · 07/06/2016 15:52

I would give antihistamine ASAP. If it is an allergy or urticaria it will go down quickly (ie before gp appt). If it doesn't, it tells you it's less likely to be an allergy.

Twinkie1 · 07/06/2016 15:56

Looks like ringworm to me! But then I'm no expert so I'd go straight to see practice nurse at GP.

LuckySantangelo1 · 07/06/2016 15:59

Yep that's ring worm to my eye.

spanky2 · 07/06/2016 16:04

My skin loves a rash. I had a rash similar but only on one place. I'm not sure it's ringworm as the skin in the centre isn't normal colour. Maybe give a her an antihistamine ?

spanky2 · 07/06/2016 16:05

I think my rash was due to some lovely rose scented shower gel. Should have added that.

AMR123456 · 07/06/2016 16:06

Does look like ring worm from the pic

MerryMarigold · 07/06/2016 16:08

I get urticaria/ hives and it doesn't have the clear bit in the middle unless it's going down. It disagree it will go down before 5pm. Mine goes up and down, moving around the body but can be in one area for around 12hours. I've had it for several months before Sad even with steroids. Has she eaten strawberries, or anything unusual?

member · 07/06/2016 16:09

It looks a bit like discoid excema though that is usually pretty itchy.

Astridologer · 07/06/2016 18:55

Looks like erythema multiforme. It can come on with various viral infections, reactions, etc.

KateLivesInEngland · 07/06/2016 18:58

I was just about to post the same as Astrid ^
My son had exactly that, it was an allergic reaction and treated with antihistamines.

Queenbean · 07/06/2016 18:59

What was it OP?

DDRash · 07/06/2016 19:28

Astrid - you are correct! it was from amoxicillin... They have changed it and want to see her again, glad it isn't anything too worrying, thanks all Smile

Phew. Glad she's ok! Does that mean she's allergic to it?

spanky2 · 07/06/2016 20:29

I have kept checking for an update! So glad your dd is okay and the doctor has sorted it out.

AnotherTimeMaybe · 07/06/2016 21:25

Ok not bad, well done to dd
