Hi there, I've been using infacol for a week now for my 2 week old boy and I think it's starting to work.
Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but
Just wondering if now it's working, do I need to keep using it?

Pharmacist advised taking wee one to doctor before they would give further bottles after the third one . Anyone else done this?

I used it before every bottle feed till he was 3 months as it stopped

What bottles do you use for my ds I found the tommee tippee ones made it work and the advent ones stopped it

I'm breastfeeding not planning using bottles until 5/6 weeks

We've been using it since about 3 weeks and my DD is 10 weeks now. I've taken it down to every other feed as it does seem to slow her bowel movements down (not constipation, still the glorious yellow stuff!) and she poops every other day/72 hours at the moment. Since you can buy it off the shelf I've never discussed with a pharmacist tbh, but I'm going going to wean her off it slowly and see what happens!

We didn't consult the gp about infacol, we just used it. Couldn't have survived the first 4 months without it.

I just bought it from the supermarket or Boots, never discussed with it the pharmacist.

There isn't any evidence that it does anything at all, although it's not harmful, so you could stop and see what happens?

My health visitor recommended it for breast fed DS who was suffering with wind post and mid feed causing him to fuss and cry. She's happy for me to keep using it and even suggested that she would get the GP to prescribe it if I needed (I've just been buying it as its not expensive)
I use it most feeds and notice when we don't, no problems with constipation or bowel movements. I've used it from week 2 to now we are in week 6.

I have just weaned my 5 month DD off infacol this week. I tried stopping at 3 months and 4 months but each time her colic crying came back.

This time I reduced it to every other feed for 3 days, then stopped altogether. The first day without it she only pooped once and cried all evening but after that one bad night she was fine.

I think some babies need it more than others. Just have to try and see how it goes. Good luck!

Gripe water is good instead of infacol not she what age it is for I think it's from 4 months
