Recurrent impetigo

My 2 year old keeps getting impetigo every time she gets a bad dose of the cold. She gets the cream to kill it of and sure enough it comes back in the same place the next time she's unwell.
Is there any way of killing it of and keeping it from starting up again. If anyone has tryed any home treatments that work or anything ?
Seems to start with the cold then a bad chest and snots then the outbreak.

is it really impetigo or maybe shingles?
are you washing hus clothes/bedding/towels hot (at least 60) or with a disinfectant?

When we had recurrent impetigo, the doctor gave us some hibiscrub which we used every day for a couple of weeks at bath/shower time. We haven't had it back since.

Where does she have the impetigo? Is it on her face?

What cream are you using.

Dd has had it a few times. they gave her naseptin to apply up her nose to hopefully kill it all. she hasn't had it again since

Its round the mouth area in the same place each time she's been given fusidic acid it clears it but she's had it with each break out.

My dd has had recurrent impetigo for about 18 months. The advice from dermatologist is to get a nose swab to check for strep or staf infection in nose. If present, give nasal antibiotics to clear it. If you don't, it will keep coming back. General antibiotics won't clear the nasal infection. You also need to hot wash all towels / pillows / sheets. No sharing of towels either because she might be picking up a staf / strep infection from others. This might be perfectly OK on you, but if she's susceptible, in her it can develop into impetigo. If they swab the impetigo, they will know which antibiotic to is most effective at getting rid of it. At one point my dd was using fucidin but it never properly cleared the impetigo. It was only after she was swabbed the gp realised the strand she had was resistant to fucidin.

Oh right I see I will call the doctors in the morning and ask about getting SWOB's done its not fair on her to have it coning back all the time thanks ladies x
