Have they done the bloods yet ? What times the doctor coming ?? I'd be shouting now if she's so disinterested and listless

Chimchar · 16/04/2016 09:43

Have been following from the start. I'm so so sorry that this is carrying on.
No advice at all, apart from to remind you that YOU know your dd better than anyone. Doctors are not always right. Don't be afraid to question and challenge.

Sending you and littleMae much strength and good wishes to get through the weekend. x

littlemaemae · 16/04/2016 09:45

The bloods were done this morning. The doctor should be round between 10-11
Everything in and out is being closely monitored. And the wee weighed.
The poo is still overflow and that is a concern too.
I do think she is being taken seriously now because they are making me panic

Ameliablue · 16/04/2016 09:48

I'm glad she has a better night and hope she gets better soon.

katienana · 16/04/2016 09:49

Your poor dd. It should never have come to this but glad the docs are taking get it seriously now.

Chimchar · 16/04/2016 09:51

I can't imagine how y are feeling. I really can't.
I suffer from dreadful anxety....I find mindfulness helps. You can get loads of apps and youtube tutorials. Maybe you could listen to ashort 3 or 5 minute one when littlemae is snoozing/watching tv or whatever, just as a little bit of self care. It may help you to unknot yourself a teeny bit.

I'm glad at last poor littlemae is being taken seriously. I really hope she turns a corner soon. Massive hugs for you both x

dowhatnow · 16/04/2016 09:55

Don't panic. See what the doctor says.
Thanks

Youarentkiddingme · 16/04/2016 09:57

Deep breaths. You are in hospital and that's the best place for her to be right now.

Good luck with Drs. Flowers

And snow? Shock

Purplebluebird · 16/04/2016 10:00

I don't even know what to say, I feel so sad for you and your daughter Flowers Try to stay calm today, although I can understand that's really difficult. Glad it's finally being taken seriously.

beesarethebest · 16/04/2016 10:03

They need to see if the poo has shifted. The fact that since the kleen prep, she's not had any lumps out is a concern. The watery poo can only go so far and of course if it's not flowing through her (and therefore clearing the way) then it's got to go somewhere else, which is why she's got water retention.

My concern is also that if it's Hirschprung, then these enemas and laxatives will not work. It says it on the GOSH website which I linked previous thread. It will lead to further swollen belly and trapped everything as the poo would have reached the affected part and can't go any further. It's abit like a road traffic accident on the motorway. They have to clear the accident before the traffic can flow again. In the meantime, the traffic will pile up, and will move v slowly if at all. Same thing. They have to clear the affected part before the rest of the bunged up poo can leave the body. If they continue with this and no lumps come, with only watery brown poo which you say is subsiding, it will make the situation worse.

It says on the website too, that they need a biopsy to confirm that it is Hirschprung. Have they even talked about it? If they don't think it is Hirschprung, why not? And what do they think it is?

When my son was being diagnosed, there were several options up for grabs as it were. I kept asking why wasn't it possibly B or C. They were v much able to explain to me why B was being less of an option and so on. That's what you need.

Thanks
cestlavielife · 16/04/2016 10:08

You and she must be exhausted. I hope a senior consultant is in today to give reassurance everything is being done.

LongLostNaanBread · 16/04/2016 10:10

I've been following too as had some (very mild) poo issues with ds when little. I can't believe what littlemae and you are going through. Sending lots of virtual thoughts, prayers and hugs.

If you start to feel the panic rising, try some square breathing. Focus on a square/rectangle - anything like a window frame , door or book - and just follow round the sides with your eyes, breathing in when you go along the sides and out when you go along the top/bottom. Hope this makes sense! And try to relax your shoulders. You can do it. You are amazing. Xx

fraggle84 · 16/04/2016 10:23

Your doing well and it's good that the nurses have changed their attitude towards you both.

is your dh coming in today or is he busy keeping your other dd occupied?

AhHaaaaa · 16/04/2016 10:34

You're in the best place. Don't panic, you don't have to do any fighting for her they are looking into it. Just use all your energy to be mum and cuddle her x

summerdreams · 16/04/2016 10:45

Hope the Drs come around soon with some resultsFlowers

Ifiwasabadger · 16/04/2016 10:51

Checking in for the third time to say another one thinking of you OP. Stay strong! You are doing brilliantly. I'd like to give your doctors a good shake and you a big hug.

NoahVale · 16/04/2016 11:28

at least they didn't turf you out again yesterday.
can you print out the gosh information on hirschsprungs to give to the nurses/drs?

Sallystyle · 16/04/2016 11:52
Thanks

I hope this is over for you all soon. You must all be completely exhausted.

EvansAndThePrince · 16/04/2016 11:53

Oh mae, came over to check in and saw the updates. I wish they had taken it seriously before it got to a stage of panic. I hope your next update is that they're taking action and minimae is feeling much better.

littlemaemae · 16/04/2016 12:02

Arrrrghhhh I want to scream!!!

If this happened on a Monday it would be a different story. I know that is no ones fault but the government.

The doctor is not concerned, she has never met her before though.
She said they are common side effects. And that she was 'distressed' from the whole ordeal. She is bloody not, she is feeling poorly.

They can't contact the specialist at Leicester until Monday. And she will be seen as an outpatient on Monday I believe then maybe referred to the surgeons as 'non urgent' (!) and hopefully be seen in the next week.

So no change of plan, no help.
That plan may be totally appropriate but it sounds far too relaxed and loose for my liking.

She admitted that hursprungs would make this treatment fail, and hey think it is that,
but they had to try it anyway.

I'm going to take a Monet to calm down the call the continence nurse for some help

It feels cruel that she is having the prep when they know it won't work and so do we

Placemarking, was on the other threads though still no advice just lots of love x

MrsNutella · 16/04/2016 12:09

Mae I'm still lurking and I think you are doing a super job. I'm so sorry that DD being seen by another new dr isn't helping. I'm going to hope for a shift change and a more sympathetic dr for you. I really hope DD gets some proper relief soon. Thanks
