Anyone able to diagnose this rash? (Pics)

It's on the backs of DD's arms and faintly on her back. As she's not at all ill with it then a doctors appointment is 2 weeks away! It's very itchy, raised and gets very red after a bath. She's had it for 3 days now.
She's just finished a course of mild antibiotics for an infected toe but is otherwise healthy.

Any thoughts?

Looks like an allergy rash. New washing powder? The antibiotics? Have you tried antihistamine medicine?

That's the thing. Same washing powder for the past 6 months (bought in bulk!), and the rash only came when the antibiotics finished. Antihistamines don't have any impact.
I've bought some non bio washing powder in case she's suddenly allergic.....

Baths do tend to make rashes worse, the heat activates it.

No idea what's causing it, the antibiotics probably. This is her only symptom yes?

Have you given her antihistimines and put something on it? E45 do an itch relief cream which is quite good.

If it's still causing problems after you've tried that I'd take her to the chemist. They'll have more effective stuff. The doctor is likely to say 'it's a rash' and prescribe the same thing as the chemist would give you.

Thanks. Chemist is a good idea- I'm not that concerned about her health as she's obviously fine, it's just the itching is driving her mad!

I'll wash her clothes in something mild and look into the anti itch cream!

Post viral rash? A few years back I developed a scaly, itchy rash a couple of weeks after getting over a flu like virus.

Apart from the 'orrible pus filled toe (thread all to itself that one!) she's in rude health. She's just itching like a monkey! Tshirts help but it's not telly the weather for short sleeves!

Make a note of the antibiotics name. Sometimes you can get a rash during, or after taking antibiotics, as other pp have stated. However, if the reaction is due to the antibiotics, she will need to be watched carefully if prescribed the same antibiotics further down the track, as she could have a more severe reaction the second time around.

Well, things progressed quickly- she had a shower this morning and we realised that it had spread to cover her whole torso and bottom... The doc squeezed us in (did try the chemist first but he wasn't at all helpful) and the doc actually squawked when she saw her! She's in antihistamines, anti itch and careful monitoring in case it spreads further. I have to wash everything again in fairy non bio......
