ear infection - GP or not?

DS (7) is off school today with earache.

He was awake in the night in pain.

Do GP still give antibiotics for ear infections or is it a waste of time taking him?

I'm being practical as I can't take him tomorrow so if he's going to need them, I need the take him today Blush

Put it this way I'm sat in a Drs waiting room now and there's an awful lot of poorly children, a fair few with cotton wool in their ears. Maybe better be safe than sorry?

Please take him.

My mother didn't take me for about two weeks when I was 12 with an ear infection. It was bloody agony and I have ended up with some slight damage to my ear drum.

Thanks for that.

I'll take him.
