My dd, 11, is having an operation next month after repeatedly dislocating her knee. It will be keyhole surgery to move the position of the kneecap. I think from researching on the Internet, it is called patella realignment. The consultant said she may have to stay in overnight. Does anyone know how long she will need to be off school for and how long she will need to take off from gymnastics, ballet and tap? I'm sure they'll tell us at the hospital but really just wanted an idea so I could give advance notice to school and dance class etc.
