Dd ( who is 6) has had a cough for 3 weeks. Dr thinks its a post nasal drip and wants her to try a steriod nasal spray beconase. When I picked it up pharmacist said she only be on it a week and box said only for over 18 years. Queried it with pharmacist who said that was only for buying it and it is licensed for over 6 years. Now I'm a bit worried. Is flixonase any safer? Any advice please.

Beconase has been used in kids a lot longer than flixonase (been around many years more), so rather more of a safety track record.

I agree with the above post, but you could also ring your GP and discuss your concerns to put your mind at rest. Post nasal drip is very irritating and takes a while to clear up. Try getting your daughter to blow her nose if she can, as this is a good way of getting rid of a build up of snot that otherwise can drip down into the throat. Nose blowing at 3.5 years is not the easiest of things to do, but try doing it with her and making it in to a game.
Hope this is of some help
Best wishes
