Food recommendations after a tonsilectomy

What foods would you recommend I give my 3.5 yo after his tonsillectomy ( this Wednesday)? Also is there anything I should steer clear of?

I've heard crisps and toast are recommended - would crackers, breadsticks, hoola hoops be too crunchy and hence sore or are they also the right kind of thing? I have heard anything acidic like orange juice might sting. I would appreciate some advice from anyone with experience.

Really need to get this right, I'm already anxious that I'm going to forget something vital!

TIA

Just a normal diet. We don't say ice cream anymore and we don't say crunchy foods, just whatever he wants to eat. Even little and often is fine as long as you are giving pain relief regularly. Encourage him to eat and drink so he's using his throat to help keep it clean.

Orange juice can sting yes.
