Silent reflux?

dd 3 weeks, seemed to be uncomfortable with what I thought was just wind but now suspecting reflux.
Ds suffered with trapped wind and colic and infacol worked a treat on him, have been giving it to dd for a few days now and she seems to be worse than ever.
She keeps making a face like she has a bad taste in her mouth a lot, followed by bubbly saliva. Crying a lot like she's in pain, won't sleep on her back unless in the pram, currently sleeping on her side propped on my arm or on my chest, brings up a lot of huge burps when feeding and does really big trumps, sometimes they're quite smelly. Draws her knees up but also arches her back a lot.
She's keeping her formula feeds down, has been sick maybe 3 or 4 times since birth (but quite a big amount not just posseting)

Going to make an appt with GP but want to go in with some certainty as don't want to be fobbed off (mentioned to health visitor last week and she said it could just be thrush as dd had white on her tongue - she had just been fed!)

Can't diagnose over the internet, but reflux sounds pretty plausible from what you're saying. I just wish it wasn't called silent reflux. Screaming in pain reflux would feel a bit more accurate...

It could be, in which case you can try Gaviscon (although it does constipate as it thickens everything), or if that fails ranitidine or Omeprazole. We has ranitidine for both our children and it worked brilliantly. Was quite a battle to get it though. Beware of the 'they'll grow out of it' response from the GP, which doesn't help.

My baby showed much of the symptoms of silent reflux although she had thrush too which confused things. We got rid of the thrush but the back arching and poor feeding continued. Eventually, I tried the anti-reflux formula which is now available in most supermarkets. Made a huge difference and she's a lot more comfortable now.

I appreciate that her reflux is probably quite mild so if that doesn't work, I'd push for ranitidine.

If it's thrush her tongue will stay white as doesn't come off. In which case you and her will both need treatment.

If you're bf that is, I meant to say.
