Ds is 10 days old we're in childrens admissions he's being monitored. He's feeding well seems quite settled. Dr clming back later say we should stay or can go but reading online it seems for babies very young a week stay in hosp would be normal?
I've got a toddler as well so will organise for her to have Xmas with my family.
Poor ds :(

Bless you, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. You sound so strong, look after yourself and your gorgeous boy.

ricketytickety · 24/12/2015 14:15

Hope your baby gets well soon. I'm sure your dd will enjoy Christmas at your DM's. Hope you get some pressies in hospital and some choccies to eat.

Goingtobeawesome · 24/12/2015 14:24

I hope your baby is home soon and I'm sure everyone will make sure your toddler has a good day.

Wishfulmakeupping · 24/12/2015 19:50

Waiting to see the doctor again- so far Baby has been off oxygen for nearly 9 hours and doing ok. Hopefully if we're not able to go home Tomo he might be well enough on Boxing Day- please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed!

Fantastic! I will keep everything crossed for a good night for you

FannyFanakapan · 24/12/2015 20:55

wishful, that is truly excellent news. They may even discharge him tomorrow - once my wee man was holding his own, they shipped him home. Ask for an open pass to the children's ward for the next 2 weeks so you can bring him back if he shows any further issues, without having to take him to A&E. Best wishes to you and yours tomorrow, try and spend some time with the rest of the family tomorrow, even if its for an hour - have someone "relieve" you for an hour or so, go home, shower, cuddle, etc.

SlightlyCrumpled · 24/12/2015 22:43

That is great news, fingers crossed he continues to improve.
Good advice about open access, it's very reassuring to have.
Hope you're all home soon.

Your thread was in active and I wanted to say merry Christmas to you and ds. I hope that he continues to do well and I will pray for you tonight. Your dd will be fine and whilst horrible for you, she'll have a ball with your mum tomorrow, they'll spoil her.

WhirlwindHugs · 25/12/2015 00:02

Everything crossed for you that your DS keeps doing well.

Wishfulmakeupping · 25/12/2015 09:36

He's coming home today :) doctor came this morn- she said his chest sounds clearer and his numbers are good. We are waiting for dh to pick us up.
I've been blubbing all morning- and Santa's been to give him a cuddle :)
What was looking like the worse Christmas has turned into the best now I get to take my baby home and spend the day with him and his sister :)
Thank you all for the kind words and support you've helped me more than you know xx

Fantastic news! Merry Christmas.

abbsismyhero · 25/12/2015 10:06

happy christmas mine had it when he was about 9 weeks old he was in a headbox on oxygen for a couple of days and an ng tube then allowed home with in home care from nurses popping over and checking his sats regularly he was left with a distinct wheeze and prone to chest infections for the first year even now (he will be three soon) he still wheezes when he has a cold we are attempting to get his hearing checked at the moment and can't because he has a permanent cold and wheezes so he can't actually hear the sounds they want him too he will grow out of this hopefully

FannyFanakapan · 25/12/2015 16:10

wishful, i hope you are currently snuggled up with your little one on the sofa in your own home, enjoying a well deserved glass of something. Delighted to hear your news.

CHristmas has become very special to us over the years. But you might find yourself in shock for a couple of weeks, like a post traumatic stress thing. Be gentle on yourself. xx

WhirlwindHugs · 25/12/2015 17:23

Yay! Hope you're home and have had hugs with both your children today. Happy Christmas!

HelenaJustina · 25/12/2015 19:49

Finally sat down and had a chance to check in, could not be more delighted! A little Christmas miracle! Hope you've had an amazing day, all the more appreciated because of being unexpected.

Wishfulmakeupping · 25/12/2015 21:29

Thank you lovely people :) hope you've all had a lovely Xmas.
We came home, I've had lovely cuddles and been Lego with my dd, then my mum suprised is by plating up extra Xmas dinner and bringing that up to us, I've had a soak in the bath and my little man is doing ok so its been fab.
Tomorrow is the 'big' day for us though dd in bed and Santa is coming with the rest of presents for her and little brother and then we'll be having another Xmas dinner :)
The staff were so kind, I've spoken to the play specialist she said they would love a garage and some cars for their toy room at the ward so will be hitting the sales to get that for them.
