Red eye reflex

Took these photos of dd yesterday. She has an intermittent turn in her left eye. We are due to see opthamologist at end of jan. Anyway I noticed that her red eye reflex was different in her left eye. This wasn't always apparent ie some photos had normal red eyes on both but these photos concerned me. Does anyone know if this looks worrying ?

Thanks for the link. Some info looks worrying. Not sure whether to get back in touch with optician before our opthamologist appt at end of January??

I think you should speak to an optician asap, just for peace of mind and stop you worrying over Christmas.

If you can't get your daughter seen asap, then perhaps show them photos.

Photographs are deceiving but it won't hurt to put your mind at rest.

I went to optician they did a normal eye test. He didn't see anything concerning thankfully!

An intermittent yellow reflex is usually because you are getting a reflection from the optic nerve head which appears yellowish rather than the central retina which will appear red. Leukocoria is the name for a proper white reflex but does not come and go and is something that needs looking at urgently

Was it a phone camera? I've heard this is quite common with phone cameras, and it obviously scares parents. Eye cancers are very rare though, so although there's no harm in getting checked, in all likelihood there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Yes it was my phone camera. I have taken more today and mostly both eyes showed up red.
