We discovered a large (golf ball diameter but much flatter) on Ds's neck last Saturday. Went to ooh doc couldn't see any sign of infection but gave him antibiotics as a precaution and told us to see gp if it didn't start to shrink within 3 days. It didn't so we went to GP who told us to carry on with antibiotics and also gave us a course of steroids. Again, there was no sign of infection and no other lymph area swollen.
We're back on Monday and although the area around the lump has reduced, the lump is still the same size, just not protruding out of his neck unless he tilts his head now.
I don't know whether I should prepare myself for scans and further tests? Ds has previously had a lump removed from the front of his neck which was benign but am I being s bit ott and if the swelling has reduced does that mean it's a lymph node albeit a large one?
