Recurrebt throat viruses

11-year old DD has a recurring sore throat (10 over the last 12 months). Every time it knocks the stuffing out of her for 4 to 5 days . When we take her to the GP we are told it is a virus, and nothing to do but rest. She has missed a lot of school because of this.

Anyone knows what can cause it and how to sort it once and for all?

That's ridiculous.
Ask for an ent referral.
My ds2 was the same end ended up with an adenotonsilectomy!
