Would you see a GP about this?

DS (8yo) has had a fever, felt quite ill, viral rash all over him and being sick on and off for 4 days now. It's not a meningitis rash and he's not dehydrated. I wouldn't normally worry about these symptoms but it just seems a fairly long time to have them - it's usually been over with in 48 hours in the past...

I think after four days I would seek medical advice from a GP, like you say these things usually only last a day to two.

Hope he gets well soon Smile

I would think that if you phoned the nhs number and described the symptoms they would def advise seeing a doctor as I don't think they would accept your opinion that it is not a meningitis rash.

The meningitis rash never passes the glass test though, does it? (his rash does). Google isn't telling me... I'll give them a ring.

In Meningitis, they go downhill quickly, I don't think something lingering for 4 days sounds like that?

I would personally sit out the weekend, provided he doesn't get worse, and take him on Monday
