So a couple of days ago my DD got a really bad lower tummy pain over the next 24 hours it got worse and the pain pin pointed in her abdomen. A small bruise developed and the pain got worse. She has ehlers danlos syndrome which means she's quite intolerant to pain meds so doctor proscribes codeine. We went to miu and the said go straight to a&e when we were there they took bloods felt her tummy they were lovely but said she had to got CAU they did the same questions same tests got blood results back they were fine. She was crying she was in so much pain. So the admitted she's 15 we went to children's ward, there was a couple of other teens and 2 really young kids. Stayed overnight she didn't sleep stall that night. Doctor saw her did same questions same tests they where suspecting internal bleeding, appendicitis, or something to do either the overies. They sent for ultra sound and urine sample both where clear but for over 2 days she didn't eat 1 cause she didn't want to 2 because she was t allowed to because they thought they'd have to go to surgery. The codeine only slightly touches the pain Normally but didn't touch her pain atall but they told her to stop taking codeine so I asked if they had anything the could give her they said no she just had to cope! They said there where more tests they could do but as the others came back normal they wasn't enough reason to. The doc said she could stay overnight if that made me fell better and safe but she'd probably be discharged anyway in the morning so she dicided she wanted to go home as the children where screaming on the ward not helping her headache she also has nausea, vomiting a fever and feels dizzy the said if she got worse or stayed the same we can come back. This morning she's in slightly more pain but her headaches gone. I said we should go back if it hasn't changed by tommorow or gets worse. She doesn't want to as she says she'll get her headache back they won't do any bring else or give her pain relief. Sorry this is long!! What do you think

Awful. Terrible for both of you. I would go back if she's not well in the morning. She's not in charge, you are! Could it be a nasty virus?

Trumpetmum101 · 14/10/2015 21:30

It's deffo not virus's that much docs is saying the only thing he did say is it could be something like appendicitis that is grumbling away but hasn't fully started soooo yea think we will go back tommorow

Hi Trumpetmum, did you go back to the hospital? I know I'm not a doctor but a mum with a lot of experience, and these weird frightening happenings are usually viruses. Obviously they got to be checked by a process of elimination. Let us know how DD is now.
