Hole in toddler's tooth

Was cleaning teeth of dd (20 months) and horrified to see what I think is a hole in one of her upper teeth I thought maybe it was stuck food and cleaned it some more, which helped a bit, but the mark is still there.
What do I do - she's not registered with a dentist yet. Do I take her to the normal dentist? What will they do?

Take her to the dentist. It's a good idea to get children going along to your regular check ups so they are conditioned to the environment before they start needing treatment.

They will look at the tooth and decide what needs doing. Very much like they do with you.

My ds4 had a hole in his back tooth when the dentist told me i was mortified he brushes twice a day everyday! But does eat alot of sweets thanks to spending alot of time with granny. They put something some sort of paste over it and that was that! Oh and granny got a telling off.

Message for Mrsmorton; (Sorry to Elisheva for using your post!) I noticed Mrsmorton commented on another post about teeth, so she seems to have quite a bit of info/experience! Please can you give me any advice regarding my 4 yr old. He was eating popcorn 3 months ago and chipped a piece of both 1st primary molars on the bottom. The left side is now painful whenever he eats/chews! I went to an NHS dentist 2 months ago. She gave him 2 composite fillings. One fell out, the other extremely loose. I then went to a private dentist yesterday. He filled them both with Glass Ionomers. Came home, he is still in pain! There is now decay in both teeth apparently. I am very worried. I am aware that the primary teeth are important for the health of the permanent teeth and should be retained whenever possible (esp primary teeth retain the space for placement of permanent teeth) So don't want it extracted really but he can't live with this situation either. Worried about further infection/abscesses and since I don't do anti-biotics at all (devastates gut flora) I don't want him to on Antibiotics frequently. Any advice pleeease!!? Thanks.

He needs to have them
Properly filled with a local anaesthetic injection, some drilling and a filling. This can be tough to do in youngsters so we sometimes try the "just stick a filling in there" technique until they trust us enough to do it properly. Go back and tell them
He's in pain.
