Hi my 2yr old girl all of a sudden becoming very sluggish and loss of appetite. All she wants to do is lay down and watch tv or being cuddled and stay very quiet. She had been sleeping earlier than usual and for longer. She did vomitted once and the nursery said her poop was abit loose. she has no fever. It is day 2 since she last poop. We've been to the doctor today and the Dr couldnt find anything and since she hasnt had bowel movement for 2 days she may be constipated and contributed to the sluggishness and loss of appetite. Doctor gave us some medicine to help her poop. i am not too convinced, as i seen her constipated and not want to eat but usually after 3 to 4 days of no poop and i can see her straining to poop. this time no trying to poop. She also seem to get a bout of sweatiness in the afternoon not sure if she had a tummy spasm or what. but when i asked her if her tummy hurt she would say no. My sister said it may be a tummy bug but she has no fever and only vomitted once. She hardly had eaten anything over the last few days and am now getting quite worry. Any one had similar experience and was it really just a bug? if it is a bug how long will it last? Also i started some antiboitic eye drops and still nursing so could it be linked? sorry for the long post.

antibios will pass with the milk and could contribute to loose bowels and afterwards some constipation. If there is no fever or pain might just be a virus BUT i am not a doctor so check again with gp if this continues as there has to be a cause. Hope she is back to normal soon.

Thanks for the reply, since yesterday she seem to be back to normal, playing, eating and a happy girl again... we also did a UTI test a few days back and now got the result back, GP said she has UTI infection and prescriped her antiboitic.

Should i give it to her although she seem to be normal? As i am not sure how good was the sample as i was given a pad to put inside her nappy to collect the urine.

Also for the past 2 nights she has been waking up in the middle of night crying. Had to nurse her back to sleep, i am trying to wean her off so very relunctant to nurse especially late at night.

Glad to read she is getting better,op. Not sure whether a UTI can clear up its own. Since she's waking up crying something is still bothering her. There are several uti threads on the health forums.
