My 13 yo had been ill all last week, cold like symptoms and fever, but started to get better, but then was very poorly Sat night. Took him to A&E and they diagnosed shingles and gave hime anti virals. He needs to have at least 10 days off school.
Has anyone else had a teenager with shingles? A&E said it was unusual but not uncommon. He doesn't have a huge rash and it's not as bad apparently as when adults get it. He just needs to rest, he's pretty wiped out, and take pain meds.
