Dd2 has been offered the flu jab at her school. It would be the nasal spray, but because she doesnt have any health conditions if she doesnt have it at school she cant have it at the doctors.
With all previous jabs, dd2 has had bad local reactions. She has always had to ve rushed back in to see the doctor and had to have piriton to treat it. At one point the doctor rang a consultant to discuss her either not having anymore or having them in hospital but the decision was made for her to have them at the doctors but she isnt allowed to leave for at least half an hour and has to be taken straight in at the first sign of reaction. Nobody knows why she reacts like that she doeant have an egg allergy and its veen all of the jabs not just certain ones.
I rang the doctor for advice, she said she understands my concerns that a localised reaction to a nasal spray would involve her breathing or her brain and that its definetly a possibility but she cant comment really because its nothing to do with them. She said it was down to the school nurse. The school nurse is proving hard to get in contact with.
My gut is saying im bot comfortable with her having it not in a medical setting and without a doctor or me on site. But im not antivac at all. Both me and her sister will be having the jab.
Does anyone have any experience of the nasal spray after reactions to the other jabs?
