9 year old DD - possible hypothyroidism?

Underactive thyroid runs in my family - I take thyroxine, as does my dad and several other aunts and cousins on his side - but all of us were diagnosed as adults (mine just after DD1 was born).

DD1 is now 9 and she's always tired and a bit sluggish. She's small for her age but not overweight and seems to need huge amounts of sleep just to function - it's become much more noticeable recently as she needs more sleep than DD2 who only is 6. They both go to bed at 8pm but DD2 will be bouncing off the walls from 6am, whereas DD1 needs waking at 7.30am and could easily sleep for longer. DD1 has also been suffering from constipation which I know can be a symptom in children.

I will take her to doc and ask for her to be tested but jut wondered if anyone had previous experience of this? Thanks.
