12 year old with probable Severs - do we need to see GP?

12 year old dd is very sporty and is in the middle of a massive growth spurt. She's still flat up and down and hasn't started her periods yet so I'd say she was in early puberty.

She's got quite severe pain in her right heel which is worse after exercise and is now limping quite badly.

My very sporty eldest had a bout of Severs at exactly the same age and dd's symptoms are identical. As far as I remember Ds was told to rest, use ice three times a day, take ibuprofen and do calf stretches. He wasn't offered any physio and it went away after a few weeks.

We've started doing all the above with dd and I'm wondering if there's any point taking her to see the GP - is there anything else they might be able to do?
