DD1 (4) was sent home early from school today partly due to a nasty fall in the playground but also as she had itchy spots at the back of her head and there has been a recent case of chicken pox in the class. The thing is I can't work out if they are chicken pox or not. They aren't blisters but are definite individual spots. How do the blisters normally start out? Any advice appreciated!

Hard to tell from the picture but chicken pox start off looking raised up (they feel quite firm if you run your finger over them) and have a clear-ish liquid in them. If what she has is chicken pox you'll probably have an answer by tomorrow as they come up quite rapidly after you first notice them.
