Rash on chest, cough, and horse bite

DD has had a bit of a cough since the end of last week and was running a high tempreture on Friday night through to Saturday morning. I presumed she had just picked up a cold and gave her calpol to take down the tempreture. She reported feeling much better by lunchtime so we continued with our plans.

On Saturday afternoon we were at the stables and her pony have her a bite on the ribcage - not bad enough to break the skin but it did leave a red mark. I put some sudocream (only thing to hand at the yard) on the bite to help calm down the redness and all was well.

DD woke up on Sunday morning with a rash on the area I had applied sudocream, I thought it must have just been a reaction to the cream. This morning the rash has spread a bit but still on the one side of her chest.

So my question is does this sound like a cold and a rash/ reaction to the sudocream? Or do you think it sounds like something else?

I googled cough and chest rash and measles and scarlet fever popped up. It could be a coincidence that the rash came out just after I put the cream on but I'm really not sure. The rash has small red bumps and is rough to touch.

I've it's had the exact same with my DD aged 8, rash on one said then the same on her back but on one side, same rash you described and just after a cough and temp, my doctor got a second opinion into the room as it was sure it was shingles but he'd never seen it in someone so young and the second doctor agreed with him. Four days later and it's scanning over now and disappearing .

Sorry, I meant , I've had the exact same with my DD.
Rash is on one side and on the back its all on one side also.

I've booked her an appointment with the dr as the rash is still spreading across her front but not on her back as yet.

I'm wondering if it is shingles or maybe it's a reaction to the horse bite? I'm not even really sure if she's had the chicken pox (for it to be shingles) when all her friends caught chicken pox she only got 3 tiny spots on her back. If she did catch it then it was a very mild reaction.

It's all a bit puzzling to be honest.

If it's shingles, the spots will blister like chickenpox. DS had it in patches, in a line around his side.
