Tooth extraction in 9 yo

My nine year-old daughter has to have two teeth taken out this morning where the baby teeth haven't come out and the big teeth have grown behind them.

Can anyone tell me what the recovery process is like? The appointment is at ten and she's determined she'll be able to go into school afterwards, but I'm not so sure!

My DD had two out at this age...she was fine really but not to go to school. That's because I didn't want her to disturb the clots and make it bleed a lot...plus she did feel a bit delicate. She will need to go home afterwards imo

My 8 year old had 2 baby teeth taken out in the holidays.
He was fine afterwards and spent the rest of the day building Lego. I probably wouldn't have sent him to school for the rest of the day though just in case of any pain or upset.

Thanks! I'm inclined to agree with you both, just need to prepare her mentally for the fact that she may have to miss a whole day. She loves school!

My girl had a baby tooth out when she was 6. I was more upset than she was! It was quick. So quick. And pretty painless for her too I think. At one point it hurt her, the dentist stopped and gave her another injection then it was out. 7 minutes in total. Afterwards she was fine, she stayed off the rest of the afternoon, the bleeding scared her at first but it soon develops a clot. And she had a floppy face but saw the funny side. She had a McDonald's for her tea for being so brave.

Thanks Every1!

She had the teeth taken out yesterday and all was fine. She had a bit of a wobble when she was in the chair but it was all over in no time at all. Had to hold a dressing in her mouth for half an hour (I've never known her so quiet, it was bliss! Grin).

She said she felt fine to go back into school after lunch, so I called them up and they said not to bother, so she got the whole day off in the end!
