please help - I am so devastated that I did not watch my daughetr brush the teeth and a big problem now. she says that the 6th tooth is hurting...I visited to children's dentist - she said that she could try to save some decayed teeth, if not - they will be out. the next appointment in 3 weeks' time and even then she will just do brushing of teeth. What shall I do? Go private before it is too late?

Why do you think private will help?

Is she brushing now?

I would be asking for DD and me to be shown exactly how DD should be brushing her teeth and making sure it was part of her daily routine.

I would also ask for advice about tooth brushes, toothpastes and dietary info. Stop beating yourself up, it's happened, learn and move forward. I hope things work out and DD is not in too much pain.

There is nothing to be gained by going to a private dentist. Unless you want a second opinion.????Has the dentist given you any help to lessen the chances of it happening again? ????

Double check her routine, discuss any eating/drinking habits that may need to change and get some disclosing tablets from the dentist.

Nothing to be done now but move on and make sure her 'big' teeth are kept in better shape.
