Temperature after tonsillectomy

My daughter keeps having temperatures in between when we give pain medication. It was 39 in the night. She says she feels ill too. Her tonsillectomy was on Monday afternoon. Is this normal?

She was really well on the Monday evening.

Was she well when she had the operation? You can get temperature after an anaesthetic but that's quite high. It can also be a sign of infection but again that's quite quick if she only had them out Monday.

It could be that she's just coincidentally got a bug. Is she eating and drinking? Were you given antibiotics by the hospital after the surgery? If you're worried pop to the GP.
