Low white blood cell count in 13yo

DD had repeat bloods taken yesterday and white blood cells are still showing up as low. She hasn't had any infections that we're aware of, we originally went to the GP as she had what we thought were symptoms of diabetes. Loads of bloods were taken to rule out lots of things (B12, folate, thyroid, inflammatory markers, celiac etc) but this was the only abnormal thing. She has now been referred to a paediatrician but just wondered if anyone could offer any advice.

My son has neutropenia which means he doesn't make enough neutrophils a type of white blood cell. Do you know what white blood cells but my understanding is that white blood cells fight infetion so be carefull for high temperatures over 38.5. You'll proberly be reffered to a haematologist if you get a lot of these funny blood tests but usually from what ive read its not usually serious so fingers crossed for your dd Smile

Thank you for your reply - just start reading things and it all spirals out of control.
Thanks again
