3YO finger crossing

Hi

Has anyone experienced this? DS is constantly crossing his fingers it happens on both hands and can be his little finger over to the next one and even both of those over his middle finger, it can also be his middle finger over his forefinger. He doesn't seem conscious of doing it.

He did it for a while a few months back and I kept picking him up on it and he stopped but it is back with a fury at the moment. Part of me thinks it is a nervous related thing but he is a confident child and can be doing it at home as well as in groups.

I have googled it and found lots of references to it for Autism and Tourette Sufferers so now am panicking. I have a meeting with his pre school later to see if they have noticed it and am going to take him to GP I think but wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Any one?

@Figgygal My DS (4) has recently started doing this? Did this end up being a short lived phase or indicative of anything else? X

@Figgygal Thanks for the update. When did the finger crossing start and what were/are his other symptoms? Just keen to know so I can push for my son if needed.
