Your experience of chicken pox

I was wondering if I could ask your advice. I have a 14 month old son. In the last couple of weeks his nursery have had a few cases of Chicken pox. Over Friday and Saturday he wasn't his normal self and was clingy and off his food. Then on Saturday evening he developed a high temperature. Sunday he was miserable and we noticed a few groups of spots on his tummy and on his legs. Ranging in size from 1mm to 3mm across. Over the last two days he had continued to get more little groups of spots all over him. However the spots aren't itching him and don't really seem to be forming a blister (though some of them do feel slightly raised and are a bit like pimples). He continues to have a poor appetite and is snotty but is a bit brighter today.

So my question is could this still be chicken pox despite there not being blisters. The pattern of spots appearing is about right and they don't look like a typical viral rash or eczema. It is day 3 now so I would have expected blisters if he had cp or resolution if it was something else. I have kept him off nursery today just invade but I am unsure and was wondering what other people's experience has been?

Thanks for any help.

I have put a picture up. It was the clearest I could find there are little groups like this all over him

My son has something very similar at the moment, except he's been completely well. His spots appear yesterday but look just like your photo and sound like your description, although he has a couple in his hair that have yellow scabs. I have no idea if it's chicken pox or not. Frustrating isn't it?

Day 1, spots were like this(pic 1)
By day 4/5, they progressed to this (pic 2).

In my experience your child's spots don't look like pox but I'm not a doctor so can't be certain x
